CANCELED MY PRE-ORDER! Hasbro’s Avengers Doomsday Doctor Doom Is a Total Disaster!

HASBRO DOES IT AGAIN: $28 FOR A CONCEPT ART DOCTOR DOOM IS AN ABSOLUTE INSULT.

Oh Hasbro, we try to love you. We really do. But then you pull a stunt so painfully incompetent that you leave us with zero choice but to call out the corporate laziness for what it is.

The recently revealed Marvel Legends Avengers: Doomsday Doctor Doom figure looked completely sus the second Hasbro showed it off. But it wasn't until Hot Toys and S.H. Figuarts put up their official solicitations that we pulled out the magnifying glass. What we found is an outright disaster.

Remember when Hasbro gave us that screen-inaccurate Infinity War Captain America or the hideous, early-concept Thanos Build-A-Figure? This Doom makes those look like masterclass screen accuracy. This figure is an egregious, zero-effort rush job that was clearly sculpted off rejected early concept art.

At a $27.99 price tag, paying premium money for what is essentially a "What If?" concept figure should never be the norm. Sorry Hasbro, but at this price point, we expect actual screen accuracy and soft goods—not a stiff, plastic-brick mess that belongs in a bargain bin.

Here is the laundry list of inaccuracies we uncovered before we literally started feeling nauseous:

  • The Mask: The patterns and sculpt aren't even remotely close to the final screen design.

  • The Bicep Straps: An extra, nonsensical strap added—and painted completely wrong.

  • The Hand Guards: Missing the iconic runes entirely.

  • The Belt Buckle: Oh Lord, why?! The single biggest visual focal point on the entire costume, and Hasbro completely butchered it with a weird "VD" likely for "Von Doom" that was removed for the final costume, and rightfully so as it looks so bad I want to bleach my corneas.

  • The Armor: The boot, shin guard, knee pad, and gauntlet patterns are completely inaccurate throughout.

  • The Sash: Cut wrong and missing key detailing and inlays.

  • The Color Scheme: The entire figure's color palette is completely off. Just as they did with the Thanos BAF.

This is a total slap in the face to collectors who are tired of funding Hasbro's shortcuts. We've officially canceled all of our pre-orders for this figure, and we suggest you save your hard-earned cash for companies that actually care about getting the details right.

Keep playing lazy games, Hasbro. See how much longer collectors keep paying your bills.
