Blast from the Past: Elite Collection Series 2 Triple H Figure from Mattel’s Early 2010 WWE Line

Welcome to Blast from the Past, our new feature spotlighting nostalgic action figure treasures from our collecting archives that have aged in value like fine wine.

Today, we’re rewinding to 2010—a pivotal year for WWE action figures, as Mattel had just taken over the toy license from Jakks Pacific. With a year under its belt, the company had begun to settle into its new role, and collectors, myself included, started to feel more at home with the line.

Here, the only hi-res stock photo we could find online. What? You think we still have the box?

The only picture of the back of the box comes courtesy of Ebay and clever color management.

Now, I wouldn’t call myself a hardcore WWE collector. I don’t chase down every John Cena variant just because he swapped sneakers in a match. Instead, I’ve always gravitated toward figures that held personal significance from my childhood and teenage years. That’s why, back then, one figure stood out as the definitive version of Paul Michael Levesque—better known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley, The Game, Triple H.

THE GAME! In all of it's 2010 action figure glory. No, the hammer doesn't light up.It's just our logo

This 1/12 scale figure came fully equipped with his signature sledgehammer, a water bottle, a display stand, a removable fabric T-shirt, and a now-forgotten relic of early Mattel WWE releases—the cardboard name tag. At the time, these accessories gave collectors the impression that stands and nameplates would be a standard inclusion in the line. Of course, as we now know, that promise faded after the first year.

As with most early WWE Mattel releases, this figure has seen a significant surge in value over the years. At the time of this article’s publication, carded “Buy It Now” listings have reached as high as $124, while loose figures—often missing the stand and name tag—hover around $60. If you happen to own a complete version, you might have a hidden gem on your shelf.

That said, the rise of the Ultimate Edition line has caused prices for many early figures to dip. But much like Paul Levesque himself, this figure is never one to be underestimated.

He was a hydro homie before the fad was even a thing.
"The King of Kings" (The Catholic church cries in blasphemy)
Finding one of these in the wild with the tag is next to impossible

During the time it was on retail, this figure was a preferred choice for customizers.
