Blast from the past: Marvel Legends 2009 Tigra Nemesis Build a figure wave (Walmart exclusive)

 

In today's "Blast From the Past" we take a look at the 2009 Marvel Legends Tigra from the Nemesis BAF wave exclusive to Walmart. She was made by Hasbro a mere 2 years after they took over the license from Toybiz.

As such, her articulation, proportions and overall flow are....deficient. We can however appreciate the subtle sculpture and abs they gave her. Hasbro was onto something, but it wasn't there yet. 

The face sculpt was not bad per se... but something didn't scream "Feral Femme Fatale".

Them chichis though...Were great. And those abs. Crush us mama!

Her tail featured one point of articulation and was made of  soft plastic. 

She used to command  big bucks in the secondary market but as soon as Hasbro announced the new Tigra in Retro packaging, the value for a loose one dropped like a hammer. A mint one is still valuable due to the fact that she includes the upper  Nemesis torso. A figure Hasbro has not decided to redo... yet.

Today, however, Hasbro has improved this line leaps and bounds and they opened preorders for a new Tigra figure that features an alternate feral head, sculpted fur details, extra open hands and the coveted double jointed elbow articulation that fans have been clamoring all the way back to 2012.
